Problem Statement

Caxy wanted to update aesthetics as well as certain functionality of their website. There were UI Design issues:

The website content was difficult to read

The navigation was confusing

Solution

Establish the modern look and feel

As a tech company, it is important for Caxy brand to be aesthetically appealing with modern impression.

Improve navigation to be more clear and intuitive

Create a clear visual hierarchy and let the user to be able to focus on what the business want users to focus on. 

Challenges

Establishment of the design principles

We needed to reflect the object of the website in order to clarifying the design principles.  

 Establishment of the stylistic direction

It was important to identify the stylistic direction following research on other industry competitors.

Most users don’t know about Caxy.

Marketing purpose of introducing what Caxy is selling to generate the lead.

Object to the website

Introduce the services and showcase the portfolio.

Competitive visual analysis

We looked into how the visual competitors are achieving their goals through design elements and looked into what are the common design directions they had:
  • Clear and focused navigation

  • Characteristic typeface

  • Light drop shadow 

  • Abundant spacing to separate content

  • Visually interesting elements - illustration | photographs | colors

After looking at competitors, we came up with Caxy brand personality to establish the Design Principles.
